Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. A contract opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a school setting. This role requires providing accurate and effective communication support to students and staff, facilitating accessible learning experiences through remote platforms. Key Responsibilities: Deliver clear and precise interpretation between spoken language and American Sign Language (ASL) during telehealth sessions Collaborate with educators and healthcare professionals to ensure communication needs are met in virtual environments Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments Adapt interpreting techniques to suit diverse educational content and individual student requirements Document and report interpreting sessions as required by contract terms Qualifications and Experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language with demonstrated experience in educational settings Previous experience interpreting via telehealth platforms preferred Strong understanding of the unique communication challenges in remote learning and healthcare delivery Ability to manage scheduling and assignments independently as a 1099 contractor Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Location: Kansas City, KS This is a 1099 contract position offering flexibility for skilled interpreters seeking to provide essential telehealth support in educational environments.
