Charge Nurses provide leadership for nursing staff on their
scheduled shifts. They collaborate with Nursing Department
Directors, Managers, and Hospital Shift Supervisors to provide the
personnel, workplace, and technology resources necessary for the
provision of safe, high quality patient and family care. Core
Charge Nurses solve problems effectively, communicating and
collaborating with all stakeholders. Demonstrates understanding and
commitment to the Children's Mercy Lean System and contributes to
operational excellence. They maintain clinical expertise by
providing direct patient and family care, working with staff on a

/n/nResponsibilities:/n - Oversees daily planning, assessment, and
decision making to provide the resources necessary for the
provision of safe, high-quality patient and family care in the
intermediate care environment (areas providing acute inpatient care
or complex outpatient care). - Maintains clinical expertise by
providing direct patient and family care, working with staff on a
regularly scheduled basis. - Collaborates with the department
leadership team in the management of personnel. - Demonstrates and
promotes accountability, communication, relationship management,
teamwork, and collaboration with all stakeholders. - Oversees daily
operations in the intermediate care environment (areas providing
acute inpatient care or complex outpatient care) to ensure
appropriate staffing resources and clinical competencies are
available for the department to function successfully.
/n/nQualifications:/n - Bachelor's Degree BSN required and 2-5
years experience. Neonatal or pediatric work experience. - One of
the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate
License Missouri required upon hire - One of the following:
Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas
required upon hire - RN Compact license for all states besides KS
and MO - Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provide Licensure
and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications
Required Upon Hire - Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s
patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred

pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job
begins at $36.16/hr, but your offer will be determined based on
