A nursing opportunity is available in Lees Summit, MO, for experienced registered nurses with skills in stepdown care environments. This contract role focuses on supporting patients requiring specialized cardiac, neurological, and critical care monitoring and interventions. Primary Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care in stepdown units including telemetry, progressive care, and neuro stepdown settings. Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring, including use of rapid response teams. Manage care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures such as angiograms, cardiac catheterizations, surgeries, and post-MI recovery. Administer IV therapies including insulin protocols, blood products, central and peripheral line care, and phlebotomy. Deliver respiratory care including high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management, and non-invasive airway support. Provide care around neurological events including CVA. Participate in wound care, isolation precautions, and support post-operative orthopedic and plastic surgery patients. Flexibly float between departments and inpatient units, including emergency department holding areas, as needed. Fulfill night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per 13-week rotation, with weekend and holiday shifts included. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years registered nurse experience preferred; prior charge nurse and teaching hospital experience highly regarded. Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required. Experience in telemetry, progressive care, and critical nursing skills including cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Ability to manage complex IV therapies and cardiac drips. Consent to floating across multiple units within the facility as demanded. Must be located at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
