Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, was added to our brand family in 2016. Founded in 1969, renovations began in 2017 to create an agritourism destination. It is the garden center, reimagined! We offer a retail store, greenhouse, nursery, caf-- and coffee shop, event space, and farmer's market. It's where plants, food and farm connect. Educational classes promoting local agriculture and sustainability as well as private events are also offered.We are searching for a proactive, friendly, and organized leader to supervise our customer service and retail team. The ideal candidate will have genuine excitement in helping our guests experience Colonial Garden's unique story, while elevating the level of service our employees offer to each customer.The Right Candidate Will Have:Genuine Customer Service HospitalityEnergetic Management Skills of a Diverse TeamProfound Communication SkillsHigh Organizational SkillsProactive Management of Processes and ProceduresKey Responsibilities:Provides day-to-day leadership to ensure a high performancePrioritize, assign, evaluate and supervise the work of all Customer Service RepresentativesWrite and conduct formal performance appraisalsParticipates in a variety of personnel actions including hiring, counseling, training, promotion, discipline, and terminationAssists in coaching to ensure all front-end staff are following the SOP at all timesPlans and implements work programs and customer service activitiesAssist in updating front end staff to any changes in process, issues with items or process, and out of stock itemsPerform price overrides, returns, and guarantee replacementsCount, reconcile, and post drawers at End of Day. Ensure that store has balanced. Report any over/shorts immediately to Manager for investigation.Fill out deposit slip for E.O.D. according to proceduresEnsure deposit is in safe and ready to be checked by Accounting, all cash drawers are in safe, etc.Maintain integrity of customer database by identifying duplicate customers and merging when necessary, according to procedureDeliver a checkout experience that is quick, professional, and friendlyEnsure merchandise is accurately scanned and meets the needs of the customer, utilizing various tools such as; scan all merchandise, scales and basket to basket, etcPromote and manage a safe work environment while following direction from the safety committeeEducation and Experience Requirements:Required: 3-5 years of Customer Service experience, preferably in a retail environmentRequired: 2 years in a Supervisory or Manager roleRequired: Ability to work non-standard work hours and weekend availability area a must (retail environment)Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related fieldBenefits you will Enjoy:Health, dental, and vision insurance 1st of the month after 30 daysGenerous 401k match with immediate vestingCompany paid life insurance; STD, & LTDPTO and paid holidaysCompany culture centered around growth and innovationCareer development & recognitionDCA Outdoor, Inc, is a values based, purpose driven organization in service to our family of 12 brands.
