Western Dining Service at our Avila College location in Kansas City
is looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals An
excellent cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be
deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking.
Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is
important. Responsibilities: Set up workstations with all needed
ingredients and cooking equipment Prepare ingredients to use in
cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or
special events Ability to follow basic recipes and production
information Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before
they are served Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the
kitchen Ensure all food and other items are stored properly Follow
all company HACCP and safety policies Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as cook Knowledge of various cooking procedures
and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.) Familiarity with
commercial kitchen equipment Ability to follow all sanitation
procedures Ability to work in a team environment Very good

Physical requirements of the job: Continuous standing/walking and
other means of mobility up to 8 hours a day Ability to reach, bend,
stoop, push/pull and frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds
