Join the team at Performance Foodservice as a Class A Diesel
Mechanic Technician, where you play a crucial role in ensuring the
efficiency and reliability of our delivery fleet. At Performance
Foodservice, we pride ourselves on delivering a broad range of food
and food-related products to a diverse array of customers, from
quaint family-owned eateries to bustling nationwide chains. As a
key member of our Technical & Maintenance department, you will work
on state-of-the-art vehicles equipped to handle large-scale
distribution operations across the United States. Perform routine
vehicular maintenance on diesel engines as well as general
preventive maintenance on trailers, including diagnostics and
repairs. Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic systems,
electrical systems, and all other aspects of heavy-duty trucks.
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles, documenting all
repairs and replacements, adhering to service intervals and
scheduled maintenance. Communicate effectively with logistics and
management teams to ensure minimal downtime and align maintenance
operations with logistical needs. Ensure all maintenance and repair
work meets the safety standards required by regulatory bodies and
company policies. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and
tools, maintaining cleanliness and proper storage. In-depth
knowledge of diesel engine components and functions. Proficiency in
using diagnostic equipment and tools specific to heavy-duty diesel
vehicles. Ability to work in physically demanding environments and
lift over 50 pounds comfortably. Strong problem-solving skills and
attention to detail. Excellent organizational and communication
skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k
ASE Certification in Diesel Mechanics (T2-T8) is highly preferred.
Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is beneficial, but not
required.
